Time To Learn app for iPhone and iPad

Time to Learn is designed to help children learn to tell time with a standard analog clock using the Montesorri method - short periods of parent/teacher led demonstration followed by individual exploratory learning by the child. The application allows learning to progress through 8 modes or levels of difficulty. Start with free movement of the hour and minute hands and progress to challenging the child to find times at the hour, quarter hour, five minute and one minute intervals.

At any time the child can have the application speak the time showing on the clock face simply by double tapping the screen. In the challenge modes the challenge time is spoken (move the hands to...) and a large button causes the current challenge to be re-spoken. Both the current clock face time and the current challenge time are shown digitally to encourage recogniton of clocks using that style. When a challenge is answered correctly a large cartoon critter is displayed and a bell rings. The child has the option of being shown the answer to a challenge - in this case the hands are moved to the challenge time and a small cartoon critter is displayed.
